Paul Crespo

Paul is a
political and media consultant in Miami.
He is Managing Director of C3
Crespo Communications, LLC which focuses
on public policy, advocacy and media
strategies. A Cuban-American born and
raised in Southern California, Paul is
perfectly bilingual. He recently
co-hosted a daily Spanish-language
political talk show with Univision Radio
and taught US and world politics at the
University of Miami.
Earlier
Paul was an editorial writer and columnist with The
Miami Herald, and a Journalism Fellow with the
Phillips Foundation. He writes for various
national and international venues and has appeared
on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Sky News, Telemundo
and Univision cable TV networks. A former US Marine Corps Reserve
officer, he served in artillery, infantry and
airborne units in the US,
Far East and Europe. As a reserve Assistant Naval Attaché
(military diplomat) he was posted in various attaché
capacities at US embassies in the Balkans,
Persian Gulf and Latin America.
Paul
also
has worked as an international security consultant
and kidnap negotiator in Latin America (primarily Venezuela, Columbia and
Mexico). Active in Cuba issues, he was the Executive
Director of the US-Cuba Business Council which
promoted a democratic and free market transition in
Cuba. He was also the first Project Director for the new
Bay of Pigs Museum effort. Earlier Paul did a stint on Wall Street as an
investment advisor/broker with Lehman Brothers in
New York City.
He is
an Adjunct Fellow with the Foundation for the
Defense of Democracies in Washington, DC and a
Member of the International Institute for Strategic
Studies (IISS) in the UK.
Paul graduated from the
Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He
also earned an MA in War Studies from the
University of London and an M.Phil in
International Relations from Cambridge University in
the UK.
