Civica Americana co-sponsors the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute's (CHLI) "Future Leaders Conference" in Miami


Over one hundred college students and staff participated in the four hour event organized by the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) and co-sponsored by Civica Americana, the Inter-American Development Bank and Miami Dade College.

The mission of CHLI’s Future Leaders Conference is to highlight leadership opportunities for South Florida students locally, nationally and throughout the Americas. Congressmen Lincoln and Mario Diaz Balart opened the event as keynote speakers along with an introduction from Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus President Dr. Rolando Montoya.

The event centered on a panel on Global Leadership. Civica Americana President Paul Crespo participated in this Global Leadership panel along with Mrs. Melinda Large, Wal-Mart's Regional HR Director for the Americas, Greg Garland, US State Department's African Affairs and Public Affairs Section Chief, Hilarion Martinez, MDC and Florida International University's Diplomat in Residence, Raul Rinzy, State Department, Juan Casimiro, President of Insight and Casimiro Foundation and Michael Lenaghan, MDC professor with "Service for Peace."
